Camino de Santiago Portuguese Way & Spiritual Variant

We begin our first stage of the Camino de Santiago Portuguese Way in A Guarda, walking along the sea with unobstructed views of the ocean. Upon arriving in Oia, we stay in a charming hotel from where you can enjoy stunning sunsets.
After a hearty breakfast, we depart from Oia for Baiona, enjoying the ocean and the Cape Silleiro lighthouse. Dinner awaits you in this historic village and a must are a stroll through its charming streets or visit to the historic Parador overlooking the Atlantic.
After breakfast, a bus takes us to the port of Vigo to take a boat to visit the Cíes Islands, a pristine paradise of untouched beaches, turquoise waters, and breathtaking natural beauty. Later in the afternoon, we return to Vigo for dinner and where we spend the night.
We leave the hustle and bustle of Vigo behind to enjoy the journey and views over the estuary. Upon arriving in Redondela, a bus takes us to Pontevedra, a charming Galician city known for its pedestrian-friendly historic center, its peaceful lifestyle, and its commitment to sustainability.
We walk from Pontevedra toward the spiritual variant of the Camino. On you way you can visit the precious Monastery of Poio and continue to Combarro, one of the most picturesque villages in Galicia, famous for its seaside granaries, narrow stone streets, and seaside charm. Today we're spoiling you with a delicious seafood dinner on the shores of the sea.
Today one of the highlights of the spiritual variant awaits you. From Combarro we start our camino toward the Armenteira Monastery, founded in the 12th century, is a spiritual refuge surrounded by forests and silence. From there, the Ruta da Pedra e da Auga (Water Route) begins, a trail that follows the river among ancient mills, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. Continue with the Traslatio, the river route that recreates the journey of the remains of the Apostle Saint James from Padrón to Compostela, navigating the only "maritime river route" in the Christian world. This unique spiritual journey culminates in Padrón, where you will spend the night.
We leave Padrón to walk toward Faramello, passing through charming villages. Ten kilometers away, we discover the Pazo Faramello, a jewel of Galician Baroque architecture surrounded by forests and gardens. Founded in the 18th century, it combines history, nature, and spirituality. It is also the final stop on the Camino de la Traslatio before reaching Compostela. Those interested can visit its gardens before arriving at our accommodation and having dinner.
Excited to reach Santiago, we began the last stage from Faramello. Arriving in Santiago de Compostela as a pilgrim is a deeply moving experience. After the effort and introspection of the Camino, the sight of the Cathedral's towers marks a moment of gratitude and fulfillment. It is the culmination of an interior and exterior journey that leaves an indelible mark on the heart. You will have time to discover the city, visit the cathedral and to reflect upon your experience.
Return home with unforgettable experiences. The landscapes, cuisine, and Galician hospitality will always be with you. The friendship and positive energy of the Camino will keep you coming back. Let this Camino de Santiago Portuguese Way be your inspiration.
