PROGRAM OUTLINE
August 11 (Day 1)
We are waiting for you in the wild heart of Galicia: The land of the Wolves. As you ascend towards Fornelos de Montes and the forests of A Lama, you will enter a region in the wild, crossing ancient forests and misty valleys. Here, you will stay in your hotel, a secluded refuge that reflects the rural spirit of Galicia.
After check-in, our local collaborators Oitaven Life. They will pick you up and take you to the heart of the area to enjoy a Gastronomic feast. In a place deeply rooted in local life and known for its carefully selected ingredients and simple Galician cuisine. Sharing the table here is much more than eating well: it’s immersing yourself in the local culture with a good conversation with the locals.
As night falls, the sounds of the celebration begin. Head to the nearby town for the Verbena de San Lorenzo, a traditional Spanish summer festival that feels as alive today as it was generations ago. Dance with the locals to the rhythm of traditional Galician music, taste authentic regional delicacies and immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere under a starry sky, away from the crowds of tourists, where every moment feels intimate, genuine and unmistakably Galician.
12 August (Day 2)
After breakfast, we will present you the area and the town of Gaxate; Known for its Indian villas, large houses built at the end of XIX and early XX century. For emigrants who made a fortune in America and Lisbon, Gaxate tells the history of the past, ambition and imperishable cultural pride in Galicia.
For lunch, we will meet in Casa Nagarola, a historic local farm where the table is prepared to celebrate the gastronomy and wine of the region. It will be a relaxed and generous meal, ideal to share, a perfect pause before continuing the journey.
After eating, we will leave the peoples behind and ascend in 4×4 to Sierra do Suído, a wild and wild region of forests, hills and valleys that remains practically intact by tourism. Here, away from the roads and the crowds, the scenery opens up to breathtaking views, where the wind, the trees and the silence will make us feel like we’re back in time. This is the scene of the true highlight of the day: the total eclipse.
From the quiet top of a hill, surrounded only by nature, the local guides and our small group, we will witness how the sun disappears behind the moon, how the sky darkens and how the stars emerge on the rugged Galician hills: a totally personal moment, intimate and unforgettable.
Passing the eclipse, enjoy an authentic picnic with local products on the hillside: fresh bread, cured ham, chorizo, cheese and wine, prepared by local hands and shared as has been done for generations. No tourist menus: Only the authentic flavors of Galicia, savored while contemplating the extraordinary landscape that surrounds you.
The night continues under the stars, with the meteor shower of the Perseids, or “Tears of San Lorenzo“, sailing through the sky. Guided by a local expert in the night sky, you will experience the cosmos as has been seen for centuries, away from light pollution and crowds, in a quiet, magical and absolutely exclusive environment.

13 August (day 3)
After yesterday’s unforgettable eclipse, your journey continues without giving up the extraordinary. After breakfast, you will leave for the hills of The Ribeiro, the historic wine region of Galicia, in a small 4×4 convoy that will allow you to discover the most remote corners of this landscape, far from the tourist routes. The tour itself is part of the experience: undulating vineyards and winding country roads unfold around you and each curve reveals impressive views of the region of the town of Melon and the famous plane town, a real hidden gem. Here, the landscape feels timeless, a place where every hill, every stone, every vineyard has a story to tell.
Your first stop is Ribadavia, a medieval city with its castle impregnated with Jewish heritage and history, with narrow streets, walls and a central square that invites you to a leisurely exploration. Stroll with your guide through the historical corners of the city and discover how centuries of culture and tradition shaped this extraordinary place.
We continue the trip with a visit to the Wine Museum, where the centenary viticulture of Galicia comes to life, connecting soil, climate and human ingenuity in a narrative that only this region can count. followed by a lunch at the Sabergo restaurant, next to the Wine Museum.
In the afternoon, in the wine region of O Ribeiro, you will visit Bodegas Casal de Armán, one of the most famous wineries in Galicia, for a private tasting; Each broth with its own history.
The day culminates in Casa Nagarola , where a celebration dinner awaits you. Here, you will eat like a teacher: generous local dishes, traditional preparations and wines paired to perfection in an environment that captures the essence of Galician hospitality. Laughter, stories and flavors combine to make this food as memorable as the landscapes and wines you have discovered throughout the day.
Finally, after an extraordinary day of history, wine and culture, you will return to your hotel.
14 August (day 4)
After breakfast and departure, your Galisacra host will coordinate transportation according to your individual travel plans, whether you fly from Vigo, Santiago or Porto or continue your journey to another place in Spain or Europe, ensuring a smooth and stress-free transition from your Rural Retreat.
